Department 59 – ICT Operations

The department provides activities related to the administration, operation and maintenance of computer centres, infrastructure and IS. It processes, updates and maintains operational and user documentation in accordance with established regulations and methodologies. It provides user support based on requests registered in the ServiceDesk and provides service support for personal computing equipment at all workplaces of the Ministry, with the exception of the hardware management of printing and multifunctional devices. It provides a support structure within the CC activities to all IISST users, in particular support for selected activities related to the operation of the national IISST. It ensures the functionality of the IS and the departmental network, evaluates error conditions and ensures their elimination. It administers and supervises the functionality of all ICT for IS or their parts, implements archiving and manages IS databases. It proposes the acquisition of new ICT tools and resources or their renewal based on the requirements identified during the performance of user support and operation of computing centres and subsequently translates these requirements for consideration and administration by the ICT Development Management Department. It ensures the operation of PBXs and participates in the implementation and pilot operation of the IS. It cooperates with the separate Security and Crisis Management Department in the area of physical (building) security and is responsible for technological correctness. It provides the Ministry with a back-up supply of electricity in the event of a power grid failure. It participates in the development of the national concept and strategy of the state information and communication policy in the area of the Ministry's competence. It participates in the development of the information concept and strategy of the Ministry's extensive IS systems. It participates in the preparation and implementation of new complex projects in the ICT area of the Ministry. It creates, acquires and manages professional information resources in the area of the department's competence, and processes study and research outputs from them. It manages the holdings of the Ministry of Finance's Specialised Library, carries out library activities and fulfils the Ministry's duties as a publisher of the press. It handles the Ministry's translation agenda.
