Department 55 – European Funds

The Department administers and conceptually and methodically manages the flows of financial resources from the EU and foreign budgets provided to the Czech Republic within the EU funds of the programming period 2021-2027, the European Structural and Investment Funds of the programming period 2014-2020 (ESIF), the pre-accession instruments, the Transition Facility, the EEA/Norway Financial Mechanisms, the Swiss-Czech Cooperation Programme and the EU Solidarity Fund. It acts as the paying authority, which performs the accounting function, for programmes co-financed by EU funds, as well as the Paying and Certifying Authority (PCA) for programmes co-financed by the ESIF and the EEA/Norway FM, manages the accounts, ensures the registration of the National Fund (NF) funds and performs reporting duties in relation to EU institutions, national authorities, the Financial Mechanisms Office and the Swiss Embassy in Prague. Under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), it acts as the competent authority responsible for the accreditation of the paying agency designated to implement CAP measures and for the designation of the certification body.
