Meeting of representatives of the Czech Republic and Austria to the topic of public finance management and control system

On 26 and 27 April 2022, a meeting took place between representatives of the Central Harmonization Unit of the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic and representatives of the Federal Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Austria, the Austrian Court of Audit and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Regions and Tourism of the Republic of Austria.

The purpose of these meetings was to collect good practice and discuss the pros and cons of the public finance management and control system in the Republic of Austria. The main topics were internal audit function at the level of federal ministries, increasing the quality of work and outputs of internal audit, practical experience from the performance of external audit and the system of control/audit of subsidies.

The acquired knowledge will be used as inputs into the analysis of the Austrian system of financial management in public administration. This analysis will then be used in accordance with the objectives of the project „Strengthening Public Finance Management and Control“ as one of the bases in the preparation of the draft substantive intent of the Public Finance Management and Control Act.
