Dept 27 - Financial Markets I Department
This department is involved in developing the concept of the financial market policy, creates national strategies in the areas of banking, building savings, cooperative banking, supervision and financial stability. It prepares conceptual materials for determining policy and for supporting the development of the Czech financial market and is involved in the creation of the single financial market in the EU. It provides complex analyses and predictions of the financial market as regards banking, building savings, cooperative banking, the capital market, insurance, supplementary pensions and supplementary pension savings in the Czech Republic and in the international context. It assesses the development of the global financial market, including the impact of globalization on the domestic financial market. It coordinates opinions for the preparation of meetings of EU institutions concerning the financial market. It collaborates in developing strategic proposals for ministerial measures and procedures in relation to the financial market. It drafts and compiles legislation in the fields of banking, building savings, cooperative banking, supervision of the financial market and financial stability and ensures their harmonisation with EU law. Within the scope of its competence it handles and draws up the agenda in relation to EU bodies, OECD, WB and the IMF. It provides support for the activities of the national coordinator for the introduction of the euro and the activities of the National Coordination Group on the basis of Government Resolution No 1510 of 23 November 2005 and Government Resolution No 972 of 16 August 2006. It coordinates the general practical preparations for the introduction of the euro in the Czech Republic and acts as the NCG Organising Committee.
